JobScout Brings Digital Literacy Skills to Californians

Working with the California State Library, REALPOLITECH is leading in the development of the web platform and mobile application development of JobScout, an initiative to teach Californians the necessary digital literacy skills they need to search for work online in our information economy.

Why JobScout?

A large job seeking population exists within the United States that does not possess the digital literacy skills to find a job in the 21st century. Many initiatives are focusing on job placement and job skills, but are missing the most critical element for today’s job seekers: digital literacy skills.

What is the Vision for JobScout?

JobScout gives all Californians access to the skills, resources and tools they need to find employment by:

• Identifying the skills that are in demand and helping users master these skills;
• Using game design to teach users and reinforce these skills; and
• Enabling users to network on and offline.
