Online Strategy, Even for School Board Candidates

Our team is currently finishing up a simple site for Hugo Tzec, an under 30 candidate for the Baldwin Park Board of Education in CA. A former schoolteacher turned lawyer, Hugo is back in his home community and has one goal: Placing Students First.

The key here was to keep it simple.

A few things we are focusing on:

1) Making sure that the content is available in both English and Spanish;

2) Using a variety of social media to engage potential supporters and voters, including MySpace; and

3) Making the site clean and easy to navigate while also pointing users to key places, like the Five Ways to Help Hugo and the Donate page.
